Angola Oil - South West Africa's Next Crown Jewel

Angola is a huge country present on the south-west coast of Africa, bordering the South Atlantic Ocean, between Namibia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Oil and gas exploration started in the early 1900’s, but it wasn’t till 1955 that the first onshore commercial discovery was made at the Benfica field in the Kwanza basin. In 1966, the first offshore commercial discovery was made at the Limba field in the Lower Congo Basin. There was restricted exploration activity onshore due to the civil war that engulfed the country for a quarter century, and exploration efforts were more focused offshore.
